A New Mexico man who was arrested for a DWI - but never given a trial - and was then thrown into solitary confinement for two years has been awarded $22 million from the Dona Ana County jail for inhumane treatment.
Stephen Slevin was denied access to all medical care to the point of having to pull his own tooth while in solitary, he said.
